Is Jesus Christ Mentioned In The Quran?

Jesus In The Quran

Jesus in the QuranNOTE: Below are the passages in the Quran about Jesus. The purpose of this page is to simply show what the Quran claims about Jesus. This in no way validates the Quran, Muhammad or Allah. Jesus is God (see True Gospel) and the Bible is the Word of God (see Bible vs. Quran), but the Quran is rife with errors (see Errors in Quran), Muhammad is a false prophet (see Muhammad False Prophet), and Allah is a pagan idol (see Allah, the moon god).

That should shift the focus from history to Jesus, whom the Quran attests was born of a virgin (Quran 19:20) 1, performed miracles, including raising the dead (Quran 3:49) 2, was sin-less (Quran 19:19) 3, and ascended to the Father heaven (Quran 4:158) 4.

Muslims will stop agreeing with you about Jesus, however, when it comes to His deity and cross, both of which the Quran denies (Quran 4:157) 5.

This should present an opportunity to compare the Bible vs Quran, to present the faulty mathematics and other errors in Quran, and ultimately to compare Jesus vs Muhammad. If possible, the evidences that Muhammad was a false prophet - sacrilege to Muslims - should be presented after the errors in the Quran have been discussed.

After the initial shock, Muslims likely will search for counter-arguments to the evidences against the Quran and Muhammad. If possible, encourage them to conduct their research anonymously and without involving their family or the local imam. Why?

Instead of encouraging or aiding the research, their family and imam most likely will pressure the researcher to terminate the research and contact with Christians, warning that even questioning the Quran and Muhammad are grave offenses in Islam.

Many Muslims sincerely want to know the truth, and at some point, will begin to read the Bible. When they do, they should start with the New Testament; the extent to which God favored the Jews over their own people in the Old Testament is best read after Jesus and His True Gospel.

Ministry to Muslims starts, not ends, when they convert to Christianity. Their families will at best persecute or abandon them, and at worst try to kill them for leaving Islam. Christians should be prepared to become the new family to love and protect our new siblings, many of whom truly give up all to follow Christ.

Be encouraged that Muslims who truly seek the truth don't find it in Islam. When introduced to the truth of Christ, they, after the initial knee-jerk resistance, soak it up like a dry sponge touching water. Christians know the living water of eternal life. We must and are privileged to share Him:

"A woman of Samaria came to draw water. Jesus said to her, “Give Me a drink.” For His disciples had gone away into the city to buy food. Then the woman of Samaria said to Him, “How is it that You, being a Jew, ask a drink from me, a Samaritan woman?” For Jews have no dealings with Samaritans. Jesus answered and said to her, “If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who says to you, ‘Give Me a drink,’ you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water.” The woman said to Him, “Sir, You have nothing to draw with, and the well is deep. Where then do You get that living water? Are You greater than our father Jacob, who gave us the well, and drank from it himself, as well as his sons and his livestock?” Jesus answered and said to her, “Whoever drinks of this water will thirst again, but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life." (John 4:7-14. To read more about this passage in the Bible, click here.
