Are Christians still left in North Korea’s general population?

Christians are still left in North Korea (not just in the concentration camps) and these Christians fall into two groups. The first group of Christians still left are those who became Christian before Kim Il-sung's rule began and who managed to keep their faith undetected for the past six decades.

The second group of Christians still left are those who heard the Gospel from the first group, via radio broadcasts from South Korea, from Chinese Christians across the border or who read Bible balloons or smuggled Bibles.

When North Korea does fall to the Gospel of Christ, the number of Christians probably will exceed expectations, as was the case with the number of Christians in China after its Cultural Revolution.

Based on one calculation, Christians in North Korea may exceed 10% of the population, and anecdotal evidences suggest that they may permeate all echelons of the North Korea society, including its army’s top brass.

How can Christians still be left in North Korea under such intense persecution?

By the grace and power of Jesus Christ, who can handle the wiles of Satan. And while China is where the Lord is reaping the largest harvest in history, North Korea may be where He is raising up His most battle-hardened spiritual warriors who are unafraid of martyrdom and who may eventually play a role in confronting the rise of Islam and the Islamic Sharia Law.
